Wineries
As mentioned, the Finger Lakes Region is home to approximately 125 wineries and it is fast becoming known among wine enthusiasts as one of the finest cold-climate wine regions in the world, with its wines increasingly being recognized as truly world-class wines. Given the large number of great wineries in the region, we have elected to focus in this section on wineries located on the western shore of Seneca Lake (where Plum Point Lodge is located), which is the largest of the Finger Lakes and the one with by far the most wineries located on its shores. Just as with the western shore of Seneca Lake, its eastern shore, as well as Keuka Lake and Cayuga Lake, also, have many fine wineries.
