One of the great elements of the Plum Point Lodge is the eclectic guests who show up around the daily evening bonfire on the property's serene lakeshore. This week included a family of nine. An amazing Atlanta couple had raised four of their own children to adulthood and then, over the years, had adopted nine children in need of new parents. The children were a testament to the value of good parenting, uniformly polite and focused. The two oldest teen girls had picked out their college targets already and all of the kids had an immediate answer to what they were reading this summer. After a three-day visit, virtually all of our guests had been touched by that story of caring and guidance, a reminder of how key good parenting is to the success of all of our kids.
